Practice Philosophy

Life can be full of transitions which may result in ongoing or sudden challenges. Especially for people who have experienced trauma or challenges with transition. I believe providing a safe environment and building trust can lead to positive change when navigating challenges. I offer a supportive, non-judgmental environment where anyone is welcome to freely express their thoughts and feelings. Every client’s situation is unique, and my aim is to meet clients where they’re at through a variety of therapeutic techniques.

I enjoy working with adults (18+), LGBTQ+ community, performing artists, student-athletes, and elite athletes. I am a trauma informed therapist and my approach is relational, strengths based, and incorporates mindfulness and EMDR. I believe in empowering clients to make their own choices and decide how they want their lives to look.

Although therapy can be challenging and draining, I am here to work alongside you as an equal partner and team member; whether this is your first-time experiencing therapy or you’re in a place in which a little help and support is needed. Together, we will work towards discovering the strengths to face life’s challenges.

About Me

Originally from Houston, I’ve lived in Austin for 20 years. I have a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I have also received training in EMDR and mindfulness. Over the last decade I’ve worked in the mental health field while in a variety of settings. Including a non-profit agency, university setting, drug & alcohol center, private practice, research lab and psychiatric hospital. These different settings showed how mental health can be approached with clients from various backgrounds and identities. I find it’s very fulfilling to connect with clients, build a relationship, and navigate goals while focusing on mental health.

In my spare time I enjoy traveling, playing coed sports, trying out new restaurants, meditating, seeing live music, playing guitar, hiking, and being active with my high-energy border collie.

I look forward to meeting you!
