Background
Hi, my name is “Latifa” Tracy Ward. I have been a therapist for almost 25 years. In my life I wear many hats: wife, mother, sister, daughter, therapist, teacher and Sufi. I earned my Bachelors of Education from Concordia Lutheran College here in Austin, Texas and my Masters of Education from Southwest Texas State University. I have attended the University of Spiritual Healing and Sufism for 3 years and am currently pursuing a Masters of Divinity. I have also completed 2 units of CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education) classes.
As a therapist, I have worked in prisons, parole and probation offices, pain clinics and on a National Guard Post. I have extensive experience as a therapist in the areas of sexual abuse, chronic pain, trauma, wellness training and spiritual healing.
I have been married for 30 years to a patient man and have had the pleasure of raising two sons. My hobbies include hiking, walking, fishing, gardening and being with my family.
Practice Philosophy
I believe all of us have made mistakes. Many of these mistakes, ours and others, can have a dramatic and life changing impact. Working through these mistakes and making a conscience decision and effort to live in the present while making peace with the past can have an extraordinary healing effect on our body, mind and soul.
I believe there are some problems that need a spiritual approach added to the psychological therapeutic mix in order to heal. I enjoy working with all my client’s spiritual and religious beliefs and find it an honor to be a witness to their journey inward.
