My Therapeutic Style

My approach to therapy is very relational and client centered as I focus on the concerns of the client and build on their strengths. Whatever the client is concerned about and wants to focus on is what spearheads our work together. I tend to focus on medical and social determinants of health and like to provide psychoeducation. As a team, I believe that we can work towards growth.

Past clients have struggled with lack of motivation, chronic illness, relationships, stress, self-esteem, work, problem solving, grief, and career/life changes. I have provided support to those in the medical field such as nurses, physicians, and support staff. I have worked with the LGBTQ+ community since the beginning of my social work experience. I am neuro-divergent affirming. I am committed to providing a safe and encouraging environment to each of my clients.

I believe that “knowledge is power” and love to teach and learn along with my clients. I also believe that it is crucial that the client be treated as a whole, from all biological, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects; therefore, I often focus on how these different aspects of a client’s life interact with each other.
