My Therapeutic Style
I utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities (CBT, DBT, Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Exposure, Interpersonal, MBCT, Somatic, Family Therapy, Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Play Therapy, Harm Reduction, ACT, Solution Focused, Culturally Sensitive, Addiction, Trauma, TFCBT, Adlerian, Gestalt, etc. depending on the goal the client sets for therapy. I also include a client centered strengths-based approach.
I have over 10 years of practice experience in a variety of settings which include: schools, in-patient and outpatient behavioral health services, crisis, substance abuse, medical social work, family services, community-based wrap around services and private practice. I am bilingual, bicultural, a mother and military veteran. I’m also culturally competent and utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities and in my approach to counseling others. I specialize in Perinatal Mental Health, women, children and adolescents.
My clients would say that my greatest strength is “Meeting people where they are at”. I strive to create a comfortable and safe space for my clients to freely express themselves. Therapy is not a “one size fits all”. We are all unique, with innate strengths and needs. I see people as being experts on themselves, resilient and empower them to continue utilizing innate strengths, while respectfully teaching new skills and alternative thought processes.
