My Background and Interests
Together, we will look at your relationship to mental and emotional pain, and the many ways that this is avoided or difficult to access. I listen carefully to you to create an opportunity where we can pay attention to your experience in a new way. I hope therapy becomes a uniquely creative, playful, and lively encounter where discoveries are made through experience rather than an explanation or insight from an expert. I believe that clients are always the experts when it comes to the intricacies of their emotional lives, and I can facilitate a deeper exploration.
Past clients have presented with anxiety and panic attacks, depression, relationship issues, feeling stuck or aimless, discerning educational and/or professional pathways, relational or complex trauma and family origin issues, exploring sense of self and identity, gender and sexuality, grief and loss, parenting, anger issues, fear of criticism and rejection, self-limiting patterns and exploring wants/needs, substance use issues, and auditory/visual hallucinations.
The intake session is a chance for you to get a feel for what it’s like to work together, and to speak honestly about the many feelings that can be stirred by deciding to begin therapy. This is a time to gather the information you need to discern whether we’re a good fit. If you think we would be, please reach out to schedule an appointment.
