My Therapeutic Style

My approach is eclectic, rooted in a person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed foundation. I strive to create a safe and supportive counseling environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their experiences and challenges without fear of judgment. I focus on highlighting clients’ strengths and resiliency, collaborating with them on their healing journey. I view my clients as the experts of their own lives, while I bring my knowledge of the counseling process to help us work together to find solutions that foster growth and empowerment.

During my time working in school-based counseling, I had the privilege of supporting students from diverse backgrounds, including those who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community. I made it a priority to create a judgment-free space where clients could openly share their experiences, whether those were struggles with family, internal conflicts, or peer relationships. My soft-spoken and calm demeanor has been consistently noted by clients and colleagues as a key factor in helping others feel safe and supported, and I like to use humor in initial sessions to ease any discomfort and establish trust.

I aim to equip my clients with practical tools and skills to address challenges such as anxiety, depression, and negative behavior patterns. Together, we work on identifying harmful cycles and finding ways to interrupt them, fostering resilience and growth. Clients and families have shared that they feel heard, supported, and capable of making meaningful progress in our work together, which reinforces my commitment to creating a collaborative and empowering therapeutic experience tailored to each individual’s needs.
