IOP

We are so excited to introduce Deep Eddy’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)! Our program is for people for whom weekly therapy does not feel like enough to gain the traction needed for deeper healing or for people who want to move more quickly in their healing process. We use cutting edge approaches to therapy based on an understanding of how the brain actually transforms in order activate change that is both deep and quickly achieved. The work is unusually powerful, but also very focused and clear. Our clinicians are not only exquisitely trained, but also kind, caring people. We’re excited to hold and support you in whatever you are facing while bringing you transformational science-based care.

What’s Different About Our IOP?

Deep Eddy is known for our transformative experiential work with the underlying issues that fuel symptoms instead of working solely to manage symptoms and learn how to deal with them. Our IOP applies this same approach, but more intensively. Because IOPs are what they sound like—intensive—they are often for people experiencing a higher level of need or crisis and therefore many traditional IOP programs focus on coping skills and more surface-level stabilization. We see this approach as similar to Sisyphus in ancient Greek mythology who had to push the rock up the hill every day and then it would roll back down—teaching different ways to push harder and manage the rock. Relapse rates are understandably extremely high because we get tired of coping and the rock rolls back down. In contrast, we spend our energy chipping away at the rock. It may seem more laborious and scary short-term to face the underlying childhood pain or belief systems, but the process actually lightens the load for the long haul instead of focusing on managing it better. We believe this is the best use of your energy to prevent relapse and instead create long-term sustainable creation of the life you want.

What’s involved?

The IOP consists of 9 hours of group per week, combining process-oriented group psychotherapy, psycho-education on the brain and healing process, and experiential guided work. We also include all the other support you need for your particular situation, such as individual therapy, life coaching/strategizing, trauma work, or couples or family therapy. Plans are individualized so if you already have a therapist or psychiatrist then we supplement the work you are doing with them and collaborate. We also make a plan to transition your level of care at the end of the program at a pace that maintains your progress so you can integrate the change into your life with the support you need to hold it.

We Currently Offer IOP for Three Populations:

Pregnancy/PostpartumAnxiety, & Young Adulthood
