My Background

My passion for helping others began over 25 years ago with a career in teaching. This career transitioned into school counseling when I recognized a vast deficit in  self-regulation and coping skills amid students of all ages. I was able to witness the positive impact that teaching social and emotional skills provided for students and their families. My life experiences, unresolved traumas, and family history of mental illness motivated me to expand my knowledge in the field of clinical mental health. . I believe the challenges of my journey have  prepared me to walk alongside others when their own journey through life gets tough. I was born and raised in Oklahoma, lived in North Carolina and currently reside in Texas with my loved ones.

A Few Fun Facts or Interests:

Beyond my work as a clinician, I enjoy being outdoors, hiking, plants and gardening, motorcycle rides, spending time with family, and coffee. I respect and love animals of all kinds and believe that nature heals my spirit.  I collect Native American art including jewelry, paintings, pottery, and ceremonial artifacts. I love learning about Native American symbolism, healing ceremonies, beliefs, and traditions. I’m excited about the chance to deepen our connection and explore your path for healing and change.
