Hello there!

I’m Sheridan. If you’re in search of a therapist who sees you as a distinct individual with your own unique strengths, someone to walk alongside you as you navigate your path to healing, and a strong advocate for your best self, then you’ve come to the right place. I’m fully prepared to provide you with the support you need. Together, we will nurture empowerment, authenticity, and a lasting sense of well-being.

I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. My journey through academia has equipped me with a strong foundation in social work and counseling, preparing me to make a positive impact on individuals and communities. I am a native Texan and have been an Austinite for about 6 years! When I’m not immersed in my social work endeavors, you can often find me wandering the vibrant streets of Austin, Texas. Whether I’m discovering new local hotspots, attending live music events, or indulging in the city’s diverse culinary scene, I find endless joy in exploring all that Austin has to offer.

My professional history involves working with individuals who have experienced trauma. Recognizing the impact of traumatic events on one’s mental and emotional well-being, I employ evidence-based therapeutic approaches to help clients heal and regain a sense of control over their lives. Through a trauma-informed lens, I provide a safe and non-judgmental environment where clients can process their experiences, develop coping strategies, and work toward post-traumatic growth.

I believe in the power of human connection and employ a client-centered, strengths-based approach in therapy. By building a genuine and empathetic therapeutic alliance, I foster a trusting and supportive environment where clients can feel understood and validated. Recognizing that each individual is unique, I tailor therapy to meet each client’s specific needs and goals by incorporating various modalities.

My training has been diverse and dynamic, ranging from individual to couples work.  Training in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) allows me to focus on addressing communication challenges between couples. Alongside EFT, I draw upon techniques from various therapeutic modalities, including Attachment-Based Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Trauma-focused approaches. I’m currently enhancing my skills in EFT and seeking training in EMDR to further expand my skills.

As an advocate for mental health and social justice, I am committed to promoting inclusivity, equality, and resilience in all aspects of my work. By embracing diversity and striving for cultural competence, I want clients from all backgrounds to receive affirming therapy.

If you are seeking a compassionate and experienced therapist who can provide a safe space for exploration, healing, and personal growth, I am ready to walk alongside you on your journey toward holistic well-being.
