Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Pronouns: she/her/hers

Hello!

Hello! My name is Maighdlin, but you can call me Molly, and I’m thrilled to be a part of the Deep Eddy Psychotherapy team as a therapist with my license as a clinical social worker. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share a glimpse into how I approach therapy, hoping it gives you a sense of whether we might be a good fit.

With a passion for helping people feel more whole, open to life, and capable of unlocking their sense of potential, I bring a blend of warmth, humor, and radical self-compassion to my practice. My goal is to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported as we navigate the journey of self-discovery and healing together.

I believe therapy is not just about addressing challenges but also about tapping into the innate resilience and wisdom that resides within each of us. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply seeking a deeper sense of purpose and connection, I’m here to walk alongside you every step of the way.

Now, let me share a bit more about my background and what brought me to this fulfilling work.

My Background

As someone who grew up with undiagnosed depression and anxiety, and unaware of my neurodiversity – I felt chronically stuck, afraid, and trapped in my own stubborn patterns in the past. Initially drawn to Psychology to comprehend myself and others, I have embarked on a diverse range of roles and adventures in the field over the last 7 years, supporting individuals from birth through middle age in their personal growth and healing, as well as my own. I’ve spent years understanding on ever-deepening levels how to overcome limiting perceptions with compassion, and I have experienced firsthand and with my clients how that can transform one’s life for the better beyond what one could have ever imagined.

My career experience has been extremely varied while I lived in Detroit from 2017 to 2023. Working with all types of cultural, racial, and economic backgrounds, I’ve befriended trauma-affected teens to aiding college students in navigating the complexities of emerging adulthood, from facilitating creative bonding experiences for mothers and toddlers through the court system to helping young children express their feelings through play. Today, I see these varied experiences as essential steppingstones in my deep exploration of inner child work and intergenerational healing, offering invaluable context and guidance for self-nurturing and self-reparenting in adulthood, which I enjoy discussing and exploring through big doses of fun and play.

A huge component of my life is my spiritual endeavors. I am an incessant “truth” seeker at heart, and in my exploration, I’ve been particularly drawn to shamanic and indigenous approaches of North and South America. I’m drawn to their emphasis and deep reverence for the natural world and a profound respect for the interconnectedness of all beings. Rather than appropriating these cultural practices, I approach these traditions with humility and a commitment to learning from and honoring the wisdom of indigenous lineages with the elders I have the privilege to learn from. I additionally enjoy using various esoteric tools for reflection and self-guidance, growing alongside experienced mentors. This aspect of my life, while important and deeply enjoyable to me, does not make its way into my therapy dynamics unless there is expressed interest and desire by my clients. With that said, I have many clients that are pleased to explore and utilize their own spiritual curiosity, practices, and beliefs within our time together, and they often express how refreshing and fun that makes their therapy experience!
