Hi There!

My name is Michelle, and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate here at Deep Eddy Psychotherapy. The therapeutic journey and finding the right person to guide you through it can be intimidating. The relationship between client and counselor is an integral part of therapeutic growth and one built off trust and collaboration. To determine if we would be a good fit, learn a bit more about me below. I hope to provide you a safe space and support as I learn more about you and your world.

Approach to Therapy:

Life can be difficult and challenging, but it is easier to persevere when you have others to support you. I believe therapy provides not only a safe space to delve into and resolve issues but also a hand to hold, a shoulder to cry on, and someone to walk alongside you. Therapy is a place to be your authentic self with zero judgment. My role as a therapist is to provide this space for you and guide you towards healing. That can look different for every client so to meet your unique needs, I work from an eclectic approach. I utilize techniques and theories from Cognitive Behavioral, Person-Centered, Existential, Multicultural, Mindfulness, and Strengths-based Therapy. Together we can work toward your growth, self-understanding, healing, and self-acceptance.

My Background

I have lived in a small town in Texas for 99% of my life after my family immigrated from Mexico. I grew up in a less traditional Hispanic household yet one that still denied mental health issues. I stumbled my way into the mental health field and realized that I wanted to be the person I needed when I was younger. So here I am!

In my free time, you will find me binging TV shows, reading cheesy young adult books, trying new restaurants, searching for the best cup of coffee in DFW, and booking my next concert. I have up to 15 merch shirts so far!
