Lani Hartnett, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Pronouns: She/Her/Hers
Hello!
My name is Lani Hartnett (she/her/hers), and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. The world can be an overwhelming place, especially when we feel alone. While I incorporate aspects of CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and trauma focused CBT into my practice, I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the single most important factor in therapy. In order to create positive change, you must feel comfortable to explore your experiences and your feelings. Our relationship will serve as an example of how to be your most authentic self, embrace vulnerability, and set healthy boundaries.
My goal is to create a safe and collaborative environment so that together we can enhance your existing strengths, explore patterns in your relationships, and build healthy coping skills. If you feel like we would be a good fit, please reach out. I am eager to meet you!

Background
I was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs where I developed a passionate dislike of temperatures below 70 degrees. Seeking the opposite climate, I completed my Bachelors in Psychology at the University of Arizona. The need for sunshine, higher temperatures, and delicious food lead to me The University of Texas at Austin where I completed my Masters of Science in Social Work. Throughout my Social Work career, I have passionately advocated for social justice and the empowerment of individuals. My community mental health experience has afforded me the opportunity to work with a variety of concerns including homelessness, incarceration, substance use, trauma, foster care, and acute psychiatric care. In my spare time, I am a world traveler, an avid reader, a novice gardener, a carbohydrate enthusiast, and a proud cat mom.
