Hello!
My name is Josué, but most people simply call me Josh. I know finding the right therapist for you can be an overwhelming/daunting process. Below I will share a little about myself to give you a better sense of who I am in hopes that it aids in your search to finding a provider.
Practice Philosophy
In my experience, I believe that we are all capable of extraordinary things. I understand that seeking therapy might feel intimidating and that is why my goal as your therapist is to provide a safe, comfortable, and non-judgmental environment where you feel heard and valued. I would describe my therapy style as encouraging and genuine. Therapy can be a challenging process, so I work to help my clients acknowledge and utilize their strengths and positive qualities to create changes in their lives. I use a person centered and collaborative approach so we can identify and incorporate your functional strengths to help you take on whatever life throws at you. I think it’s always worthwhile to think about what gives your life meaning and where you want your life journey to take you, and therapy is a great space to have those conversations. I welcome diversity and enjoy working with clients from multiple backgrounds, minorities, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. I truly love my job as a psychotherapist, and I take pride in knowing I can help make a difference in someone’s life. I am bilingual; I am fluent in Spanish.

Background
I grew up in a small, rural town in East Texas. I attended Stephen F. Austin State University and earned a Bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in Spanish. I went on to earn a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I’ve had the opportunity to provide psychotherapy services at university counseling centers, community mental health clinics, and private practice. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family, friends, and my dogs (Oliver, Addie, & Rubi.). I also enjoy traveling, techie stuff, movies, art, and food (who doesn’t love a good taco?!)
