Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Hi!

I’m Hannah, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker here at Deep Eddy Psychotherapy. I specialize in treating individuals experiencing intense emotions, impulsivity, and interpersonal stress. I work with individuals diagnosed with anxiety, depression, mood, and personality disorders. I’m clinically trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and enjoy working with you on identifying ineffective thoughts and behaviors, and finding more effective ways to cope and navigate life. I’m also trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy- Level I, and work with couples on increasing effective communication, deepening relationships, and navigating conflict skillfully. In general, I work with adolescents aged 16+, adults, and couples, and the following:

  • Suicidal ideation
  • Self-harming behaviors
  • Self Esteem
  • Relationship Issues/Interpersonal stress
  • Intense Emotions
  • Anger Management
  • Anxiety
  • Codependency
  • Coping Skills
  • Depression
  • Family Conflict
  • Life Transitions
  • Peer Relationships
  • School Issues
  • Life stress
  • Marital and Premarital

I have extensive experience practicing at an intensive outpatient level of care (IOP), and enjoy facilitating both individual and group therapy.  I have a special interest in working with college students on coping with the transition and changes that come along with being a student and increasing our independence, and previously facilitated group therapy with college students at UT Austin experiencing interpersonal stress and difficulty with emotion regulation and tolerating distress.

I enjoy using humor and bringing my authentic self to our sessions together. I love getting to know people and their history, and tend to pull from past experiences to help make sense of our current thoughts and behaviors. Due to my clinical training and background, I also incorporate the education and implementation of new, tangible skills in my practice when what we’ve been doing isn’t working so that we can increase effectiveness and respond mindfully in life.

About me:

I was born and raised in upstate New York, received my undergraduate degree from the University of Vermont, and completed my Masters’ in Clinical Social Work from Simmons College, located in Boston, Massachusetts. I have a twin sister who is a social worker like me, and a dog, Ophelia, who I love so much. My sister’s dog is my dog’s littermate/sister, Ada, so we call them sister cousins! In my free time, I enjoy playing with and napping with Ophelia, hiking, paddle boarding, going to local comedy shows, watching post-apocalyptic tv series,  traveling, and spending time with my fiance and friends.

If anything stated above resonates with you, just know you’re not alone. I can’t wait to start working with you and building the life you want for yourself. If you think we’d be a good fit, please reach out and schedule an appointment!
