My Background
After growing up in Upstate New York, I pursued a Master of Science degree in Social Work from the University of Texas Steve Hicks School of Social Work with a focus on child and adolescent development. I have fifteen years of experience working in school settings from elementary to high school. The majority of clients I have had the pleasure of working with are first or second-generation Hispanic, Spanish-preferred families. Additionally, I am trained in EMDR and have worked to process a wide range of traumas with clients.
I believe that my primary job in counseling is to meet you where you are in a given season or in a specific moment. My starting point will always be to highlight the strengths that you have, which can often be hard to see in moments of crisis, and leverage those strengths into socioemotional growth.
Outside the therapy room, I have three young daughters who keep me busy. We have a woodworking shop in our garage and a favorite weekend activity is building furniture and games together. I am an avid backpacker and feel most connected to my identity when I am cooking an involved Italian recipe from my family back in New York.
