My Background
I’ve always been passionate about helping others navigate life’s challenges. Becoming a licensed clinical social worker was a natural path for me as I wanted to make a positive impact on people’s lives. My academic journey led me to study psychology at University of Nevada, Las Vegas, my hometown. Discovering a profound passion for social justice and human behavior, I set out on the path to become a licensed clinical social worker. I completed my Master’s in Social Work at University of Houston. With a focus on the LGBTQ+ community, mood disorders and trauma, I have experience as a therapist in dual-diagnosis outpatient programs and inpatient hospitalization, offering individual, group, and family counseling to adults, children, and teens. One important aspect of my personal journey is authenticity in showing up for others. I believe in creating a safe and empathetic space for my clients to explore their concerns.
I enjoy working with clients who are in a period of transition, want to work on identity, gender or sexuality issues etc. I also enjoy working with clients who want to understand their emotions better and find ways to navigate managing them, clients who are navigating difficult relationships/family issues, and clients who want to collaborate. Lastly, I enjoy clients who are open to unconventional practices of therapy such as gaming, walking/talking, and creativity.
Beyond my work as a clinician, you’ll discover my passion for video games and music. Whether it’s diving into DnD podcasts, indie video games, or K-Pop, establishing an authentic and warm environment together is my goal, and I’m excited about the chance to deepen our connection as we embark on this journey together.
