My Therapeutic Style
I’ve assisted numerous families in navigating boundary issues and communication challenges, while fostering stronger, more meaningful connections. I’ve had the privilege of working with both active and retired veterans facing PTSD and the challenges of reintegrating into civilian life. I’ve also worked with many LGBTQ+ couples and have found that they face similar challenges as heterosexual couples, including issues with communication, intimacy, and conflict resolution. I strive to create a safe, inclusive, and nonjudgmental space where they can openly explore and address these concerns.
My therapeutic approach is open, authentic, and encouraging. I’ve found that I am most effective when I remain true to myself and avoid trying to fit a conventional ‘therapist’ mold. By focusing on building a genuine connection, I help my clients feel comfortable and seen as ‘human.’ This approach has fostered strong rapport, allowing clients to embrace change and feel at ease discussing difficult topics.
At the end of treatment, clients often share that they’ve made significant progress and feel a sense of relief. They leave with stronger tools and coping strategies than when they started. Despite the challenges they faced along the way, many express that they found the process rewarding and fulfilling.
