My Therapeutic Style

My therapeutic style is varied, as I work with many modalities. Most often, I use CBT, Person Centered, Stage of Change, Object Relations, Gottman, Family Systems, EMDR, Solution Focused. Past clients include couples, families, and groups both virtually and in-person. I have also worked in substance abuse programs, corrections, inpatient hospitalization, group therapy, outpatient IOP/PHP, and individual therapy.

During an intake session, I like to immediately jump in and allow the person to be heard, seen and cared about – period. I use narratives and metaphors that are relevant to each client. If they’re a chef, I may use an analogy about ingredients to describe relationships, if it’s helpful and connects with them. I want everyone to know they’re special to me (because they are).

Outside of the office, I can be found admiring retro-vintage style decor and fashion or listening to one of my vinyl records – I have over 2,000. I’ve also worked backstage for many venues all over Houston.
