Advancing Mental Health Care Through Innovation and Research
I have dedicated over a decade to the study and treatment of psychiatric and neurocognitive disorders, focusing on advanced medication management and innovative therapies like Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Spravato. As a board-certified psychiatrist with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, I strive to provide cutting-edge care to my patients. My journey in psychiatry began during my residency in General Psychiatry at the University of Texas at Houston, where I trained at one of the nation’s largest psychiatric hospitals. Additionally, I hold a Ph.D. in Biomedical Science from the same institution, which further deepened my understanding of the biological underpinnings of mental health.
Over the years, I’ve gained extensive experience in neuromodulation treatments, including deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (TDCS), and Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT). These therapies offer hope for individuals who have not found success with traditional treatments. My passion lies in advancing research and clinical applications for mood and neurocognitive disorders, aiming to improve outcomes and quality of life for my patients. This focus drives my commitment to exploring innovative approaches and sharing my findings through peer-reviewed publications.
Beyond clinical practice, I actively engage with professional organizations such as the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology, the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry, and the Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians Academic Committee. My work has been recognized through numerous national awards, including the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology New Investigator Award and the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry Travel Fellowship. I also contribute as a reviewer for scientific journals, ensuring the field continues to progress through rigorous research. These experiences reflect my dedication to advancing mental health care and supporting the academic community.
