Hello, my name is Scott and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependence Counselor here at Deep Eddy Psychotherapy.  I wanted to share a bit about myself and my approach to therapy to help you decide if we might be a good fit.

After growing up in Fort Worth, Texas, I pursued an education in Classical Music.  However, realizing my deep passion for Psychology and mental health, I transitioned and began my journey toward becoming a counselor.  I completed my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at the University of Houston at Victoria.  I have 4 years of experience as a counselor in inpatient, outpatient, and virtual settings, offering individual, group, and family counseling to teens and adults. I specialize in working with clients with anxiety, depression, grief, substance abuse, and stress and anger management issues, and the approach that I use varies by client, from mindfulness to narrative therapy to cognitive behavioral therapy.  I believe that you are the expert in your own life, and that no one therapeutic style is the “correct,” style for everyone, so let’s find what works best for you.

Outside the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with, and training my three dogs, tabletop board games, cooking, and going to the movie theater with my wife.  Connecting on a personal level is essential to the therapeutic relationship, and I look forward to getting to know you better!
