Ethical Trauma Treatment: Understanding the Needs of the Nervous System
This training includes how understanding trauma’s impact on the nervous system informs safe, ethical approaches to trauma treatment that avoid being retraumatized and instead lead to empowerment and a sense of dignity on the part of the client. ethical considerations are explored, such as managing countertransference issues, keeping clients within their emotional window of tolerance, concerns for safety, hierarchy of needs, professional competence, self-care, among others. This course is didactic with clinical demonstration (role-play). (3 CE credits)
Integrating Experiential Psychotherapies
Topics covered in this training include attachment, the application of mindfulness and interpersonal nuerobiology, healing trauma, working with defenses and emotion, tracking the body, and inter/intrapersonal integration. This course is didactice with mock therapy session demos. Optional experiential homework will be given geared toward developing integration to one’s own nervous system and thorough notes and videos posted onto our private blog. (10 CE credits)
Caring Confidently: Therapeutic Presence in Deepening Emotion
This brief online course teaches therapists the basic, but transformational aspects of effective therapeutic presence and provide space for reflection on participants’ defenses, fears, and self-evaluation of current strengths and weaknesses in this area. (1 CE credit)
