– Carl Rogers

Hello and welcome! Congratulations on making the choice to invest in yourself. No matter what led you here, just know that I am rooting for you and inspired by your courage to take this important step. Below is a little bit about me and my therapeutic style to help you determine if I might be a good fit to walk alongside you in your therapeutic journey. I look forward to having the opportunity to connect with you.

Therapeutic Philosophy

I believe that inside each client exists their own unique power of healing and that the therapeutic journey is a process of self-discovery to learn how to unlock and use that power. My goal as a therapist is to create a safe space filled with compassion, acceptance, and empowerment where my clients and I can collaborate to implement effective strategies to promote growth and healing. Acknowledging the uniqueness of the human condition means tailoring the therapeutic process to meet each person where they are at. What this means is that I take an eclectic approach to therapy, pulling from a variety of styles in order to tailor treatment to best meet the individualized needs of each client. I primarily operate from a Person-Centered approach which means that I view each of my clients as being the expert on their own lives. I empower my clients to take lead in our sessions as much as possible. I believe my primary job as your therapist is to hold space for you and serve as a non-judgmental facilitator as you move through the therapeutic process of self-discovery. To promote growth and healing in my clients during this process, I integrate tools and strategies from evidence-based practices such as, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Somatic Body-Centered Psychotherapy. At the end of the day, I stand firm in the belief that there is immense healing power in cultivating a space where you can be truly heard and unearth your most authentic self. My passion and drive as a therapist lies in nurturing this individualized space so that you can strive toward your personal goals, whatever they may be.

A Bit About Me

I am a Louisiana gal born and raised. Yes, I make a mean gumbo and put Tony Chachere’s on literally everything. I obtained my B.S. in Child and Family Studies and my M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (geaux Cajuns!). I made the decision in the Fall of 2021 to pursue my career dream of helping others in my most favorite city in the world, Austin, TX! I am thrilled to be here and to be of service to this incredible community. In my spare time I love to cook, read, attend shows of all kinds (theater, concerts, comedy, etc.), and be the best dog aunt to my roommate’s sweet golden retriever Zaliegh.
